Storytime Volunteers

Do you have experience working with young children ages birth to five?

Storytime Volunteers visit preschools and childcare centers, waiting rooms of other social service agencies, and other community-based locations to share books, songs, and puppets with toddlers and preschool-age children in a variety of settings. These might be one on one with an infant or toddler, with a group of children in a childcare setting, or with young children and their caregiver in a community-based setting. Volunteers help make books come alive and provide engaging interactions around books. Make Way for Books has an extensive library of age-appropriate books, puppets, story kits, as well as training to support volunteers in sharing books with children in our community. Placement is based on the availability and experience of the volunteer.
